Sex and Death: The Unspoken Truth Behind Nigerian Men’s Sexual Enhancement.

Experts have expressed concerns over the incidents of some men slumping and dying during sexual activities, mostly with other women in hotels.

UGAMATV reports that the trend has become increasingly worrisome, where a good number of folks, especially married men, have fallen to the fangs of the incident, with a Kogi State University don, Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, emerging as the latest victim of the menace.

Similarly, a man simply identified as Mr. Louis Nwachukwu, an employee of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), was found dead in a hotel located in the Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The deceased was said to have checked into the hotel with a woman named Miss Helen Raymond before his death.

Speaking to News men a Clinical Psychologist/Mental Health Therapist, McFredericks Akor Edache, said one reason males seek to enhance sexual pleasure is to impress females, warning that this has deadly consequences.

Edache stated that the epidemic of the death toll that arises following the hypersexual response phase is characterized by prolonged erection in males and delayed ejaculation and orgasm in both males and females.

The mental health therapist said naturally, the sexual response phase is characterized first by foreplay, where sexual organs are stimulated by caressing and fondling, adding that this usually prepares the consensual adults for a beautiful sexual fantasy.

According to him, these sexual response phases happen unaided by any artificial response, such as sex enhancement drugs, herbs, or anything else intended to alter the natural process by increasing it.

The Clinical Psychologist added that females usually do not gasp for air during rounds of sexual response like males because the strenuous exercise is tiring, which is why most males sleep off after sexual activity, regardless of the rounds, adding that no male should be threatened by females who may consider them a one-minute man or a weak man.

“It suffices to note here categorically that the first round of any sexual activity is the most pleasurable; the second round and other rounds are often characterized by fake and pseudo fantasy and orgasm, usually by the male to impress the female to prove sexual agility.

“The female gender usually comes later in sexual climax compared to the male, who comes earlier. Now, because of this natural phenomenon, some males turn to sexual enhancement to equate the arrival time of their female counterparts. To do this, they take sexual enhancement, which stretches the normal sexual response phases by ensuring blood flow to the erogenous zones, especially the genital area.

“This blood flow to these extremities may reduce blood flow to other vital organs necessary for survival, and the absence of adequate blood flow could affect respiration, and death may occur. Shortage of blood in the body is disastrous, which is why patients are given blood when they’re running short of it.

“The sight of a succulent nude female is usually irresistible, but the satisfaction can come at the same time if foreplay goes well. Men shouldn’t go into the women soon after seeing the irresistible sight; rather, take time to do foreplay to begin the process of the organism for her so that when the man finally goes in, the arrival time at climax will be almost the same,” he said.

On his part, a Kwara State-based lecturer, Hassan Alowonle, said having sex is natural and one of the features of every human, plant, and organism, stressing that the incident of “from pleasure to grave” has become a norm in Nigeria, where some men have been reported to have visited the last abode during sexual intercourse.

He said that scientists have underscored several ways in which reproduction occurs among all creatures. However, in the course of deriving pleasure among humans, some men transposed into sex prey—painting sex a horrible and disgusting image.

According to him, death records of men during sexual exercise are multifaceted, but an average Nigerian will frame it with voodoo or woman fetishism, emphasising that before people get married or have sexual intercourse, both parties must undergo medical fitness to know the physical and sexual capabilities of both parties.

Alowonle said, like other exercises, sex is another form of exercise, but if someone is not careful, the exercise may lead to death, stressing that medical experts have made it known that heart diseases can lead to death if someone suffering from such a sickness doesn’t take precautions. This means our hearts work faster during sexual intimacy, and for someone with heart disease, sex should be normalized; hence, death is certain.

He added that intense sexual activity can lead to cardiac arrest and death, particularly for individuals having health challenges. Blood pressure and heart rate increase during sexual intimacy; these two are vital considerations, but out of pleasure, some men become sex victims.

“Another phase that triggers death during sex is the exertion of sex. Some men are full of fantasy, daydreaming of sexual life, romancing their minds on sexual expeditions if they finally meet their long-awaited sex partner. This form of excitement can create unexpected force during sexual exercise and, as such, lead to untimely death.

“Many advertisers are promoting sex drive supplements, which have left some women to demand unimaginable pleasure from their partners. To fulfill the sexual demand or prove strong to a woman, many men indulge in taking such supplements or substances to boost their sexual drive and forget to consider their health status. Having sexual exercise is natural, but our sexual capabilities are not the same,” he added.

Also speaking a chemist cum public affairs commentator, Divine Mike Akor, who lamented the recent wave of men’s deaths during sex romps in hotels, said it has become increasingly worrisome.

Akor, who said every evil comes with consequences, stated that infidelity and unchastity, sex-wise, is one moral pitfall which every culture, religion, and nature vehemently frowns at, stressing that for men who have wives to drift towards that atrocious projection invokes consequences from nature.

He added that those men who died during a sex romp caused their deaths when the menace was x-rayed from a medical perspective.

“Copious evidence has always emerged that most of these victims of the shameful escapade and sextortion used sex-enhancing drugs or substances before the filthy act. We all know the jeopardizing effects of sex enhancement drugs cum substances. They trigger abnormal blood pressure, among other lethal effects. This could result in death during the sexual jamboree. They take these substances to impress these ladies in bed, but not their wives. This is one of the reasons the incident hardly happens during the same act with their wives.

“Most of these girls whom these folks engage in the act with are total strangers, ladies whose history, personality, and innocence they had no knowledge of. It is really a careless risk to just pick someone whom you know nothing about and begin romantic outings with them. What if they are diabolical? What if they’re spirits? Again, most of these people are old enough that the special strength and vigour to satisfy the kind of sexually hyperactive, young, and agile ladies they usually prefer to have sex with is no longer there, hence they use a lot of energy to satisfy them and could die in the process.

Mr. Akor, therefore, called for the restoration of moral values and personal discipline to avoid this kind of illegitimate sexual outing, advising men to master the act of contentment in marriage to avoid voracious libido, which could pressurize them into making callous sexual decisions.

He added that the use of drug enhancement drugs or substances should be avoided or minimized due to the lethal effects of such substances on the health and well-being of the users.
