Continuing his commitment to supporting education for underprivileged students in Ogun West and beyond, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Ogun State for the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
The Special Adviser on Media to the Senator, Kayode Odunaro, disclosed on Saturday that the initiative, titled “SEN YAYI FREE JAMB 2026,” was personally funded by Senator Adeola and successfully provided beneficiaries with their JAMB PINs.
Senator Adeola described the intervention as part of his ongoing educational empowerment efforts for brilliant but economically disadvantaged students, complementing his scholarship and bursary support for tertiary institution students.
“As far as I can help it, none of our children will miss educational opportunities arising out of the adverse economic predicament of their parents or guardians,” he said.
The beneficiaries are spread across all three senatorial districts of Ogun State, with 2,183 from Ogun West, 1,358 from Ogun Central, and 418 from Ogun East. Some applicants who had issues with incorrect profile information or age restrictions flagged by JAMB are being further assisted to secure their PINs.
The long-running “Free JAMB” programme has received widespread appreciation from students and parents alike. Mr. Suuara Adeyemi of Ipokia LGA described it as a significant financial relief, particularly after paying school fees for other siblings. Similarly, a beneficiary, Mr. Henry Olaitan from Odeda LGA, revealed that without the senator’s support, he would have missed the examination due to financial constraints.
The programme continues to ensure that economic hardship does not prevent deserving students from accessing higher education opportunities.
