
It was a day of joy in the household of three time former deputy president of Nigeria, Senator Ike Ekweremadu as his wife Dr. Mrs Nwanneka Ekweremadu was bestowed with a chieftaincy title.
The chieftaincy title which took place on the 22nd of December at the 70th birthday and first Ofala festival of Igwe Benedict Nnajiofor Eze, Ezeagbo (VI) Ezeoha of Ndeagbo ancient kingdom in Aninri local government where other people including Deputy minority leader, Hon. Toby Okechukwu and Hon. Dennis Oguerinwa were given titles.

Dr. Nwanneka who was bestowed with the title of Lolo Ozo di eme was filled with smiles and gratitude towards the Igwe and his people for deeming her fit for the title.
Senator Ike Ekweremadu who was present at the occasion to support his wife thanked the Igwe for honoring his wife, stating that it meant a lot to him.
Addressing all present, he said “I want to congratulate everyone who was given a title today and they are well deserved. For someone to be 70 years is not a small feat. So I thank God for keeping you till this age.
Revealing that he started his political career there, he said “am testimony to the things Ndeagbo can do. I started my political career here as the first elected chairman of Aninri in 1997 and they were the ones who gave us a land to build our secretariat”.

Commending some other recipients of the chieftaincy title, he said “We have roads all over Aninri. I have a brother and a friend who first joined me as my economic adviser, Toby okechukwu. When he first started working with me I told him what I wanted to do in my senatorial district in terms of infrastructure, once I told him what to do he went ahead and did a great work here. So am not surprised that he went to the house of reps and stayed there 3 terms and still counting”.
Appreciating Oguerinwa, he said ‘Oguerinwa is truly ‘Nwanne di na mba’ as his title says. Most of us have benefitted from his generosity in many ways. Not only does Ogeurinwa supports the infrastructural development of our state but has taken a different dimension where he shares money to who so ever might be in need of it.

Praising Hon. Chinedu Otaka who was as a recipient of the titles, he added “Otaka is making us very proud in the enugu house of assembly. One of his greatest asset is that he is very confident”.
Thanking the Igwe for recognizing his wife in a special way, Ekweremadu congratulated her and showered her with praises, saying “I want to congratulate my wife, she is a great woman. When they asked her to give a speech she gave me the order to speak on her behalf. She is a humble wife and a wife after my heart. Am very happy with her am fulfilled I have such a dedicated wife who is well accomplished and still remain humble”.
