

The former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, and wife Dr. Mrs Nwanneka Ekweremadu on the 23rd of December gifted bags of rice and ankara fabrics to widows to mark the holiday celebration.

The event which he themed the ’24th Edtion of Christmas with the widows’ was held at his residence in Enugu state where he invited widows to take part in the celebration.

Speaking with UGAMATV on his reason for the celebration, Ekweremadu said “It was joy and excitement as my wife and I were joined by friends and associates in hosting widows drawn from all the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State.

“It was the 24th edition as this has been our family tradition since I was first elected into public office as the pioneer Council Chairmen of Aninri LGA in 1997.

“It gives us inestimable joy celebrating Christmas with the widows, seeing smile on their faces and watching them depart with the reassurance that there is still hope”, he said.
