Security guard nabbed for stealing iron rods from new building in Delta

A man identified as John Simon was arrested for stealing iron rods from an ongoing construction project in Agbor, Delta State.

The suspect, who claims to be from Plateau State, was apprehended by Agbor Gha-Ihun vigilante at the weekend.

He revealed that the construction site is located near the residence where he works as a security guard at Iyogo Road in Ogbesogan, Ime-Obi, Agbor.

Simon admitted that he was not alone; he confessed that he and another security guard, also from Plateau State and sharing the same name, John, were involved in the theft. However, his accomplice managed to escape apprehension.

He expressed regret for his actions, stating it was his friend who lured him into committing the crime, and he pleaded for mercy.

The Chief Security Officer of Agbor Gha-Ihu Vigilante, Chief Sunday Ibude, announced that they are actively policing Agbor Kingdom and its surroundings to combat all forms of criminality.

He emphasised that anyone caught committing a crime will face the full consequences of the law.
