The 25-year-old security guard, Godwin Mngumi, who connived with two others to m#rder a retired female chief Judge, Justice Ifeoma Okogwu (Rtd) at her home in Asaba, the state capital on November 23, 2025, has confessed to committing the crime and recounted how himself and others carried out the dastardly act.

 

While being paraded before newsmen, Godwin who was contracted through a security company, had only served as the retired judge’s security guard for a week and some days before he planned to attack her.

 

According to him, their plan was just to steal her valuables including her phone and never to m#rder her.

 

‘’We did not plan to k!ll her. We only planned to take her phone. When we got there, we tied her hands and leg, we took her phone,wristwatch, her necklace and power bank.’

 

Godwin’s accomplice who gave his name as Nnaji was arrested after the deceased judges’ phone was found on him.
