Enugu Safety Group ESG has warned dealers in cooking Gas in Enugu against the unhealthy and reckless exposure of Liquidified Cooking Gas in Enugu streets and neighborhoods which is unhealthy and unsafe and has been declared unacceptable
Adding that the rate in which dealers in Cooking Gas are found in every nooks and crannies of the state has become worrisome stressing on the need for Public Health, Safety and Standardization .
In a statement by the coordinator of Enugu Safety Group, ESG, Barr. Henry Okeke, he warned against the unhealthy and reckless exposure of Liquidified Cooking Gas in Enugu streets and neighborhoods stating that “It has been observed that dealers in Cooking Gas can be found in every nooks and crannies of our dear State, thereby endangering the lives of Ndi Enugu. This unhealthy and unsafe practices is unacceptable.

“We are worried because prevention is far cheaper than disaster. Therefore, Government must step in with a task force and other proactive measures to prohibit this dangerous trend.
“This Public Health and Safety awareness is also directed to the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR Enugu office” ESG beckoned
Also in a Public Health and Safety awareness statement made available to the media, Barr. Henry Okeke further stated that “Enugu Safety Group ESG deeply sympathizes with the victims of kerosene explosion in Nsukka and wishes survivals of the unfortunate incident quick recovery.
“We commend the compassionate Governor of Enugu State for his timely visit to the victims of kerosene Explosion “
They therefore stated that it is in the order to prevent a worst case scenario, that they have decided to immediately Ban sales of Liquidified Cooking Gas in our neighborhoods and stipulate penalties for defaulters, Barr. Henry Nnanna Okeke who is also an assistant to the Governor of Enugu State insisted
