Rivers State University Student detained following viral confrontation with former DVC as eyewitness shares account

The student filmed engaging in a confrontation with a lecturer at Rivers State University has been detained and video shows him locked up following the incident.

Now, an eyewitness has narrated what led to the altercation between the lecturer – a former Deputy Vice Chancellor – and the student.

The eyewitness said: “Yesterday while some year 1 students of computer engineering was just sitting free in their class doing nothing, a senior colleague student of theirs entered to share the gospel briefly with them and to encourage them on how to have high flying success as students and believers, which is a normal thing to do as a fellowship

“While this was going on, suddenly a lecturer from the department of physics entered. By name Prof Benjamin Senibo Pepple (former DVC) of the school.

“He started harassing the student in question and assaulting him, slapped him couple of times and dragged his shirt. He then eventually called CSO on the student and the student was arrested by the school security in their cell from morning till night through out the day

“So if a fellowship president can be assaulted like this, what then becomes the fate of the masses, ordinary students in such intense persecutions.

“Please we call on well meaning body to help us intervene and also petition that lecturer.

“They said that is how this lecturer in question has been bullying christian leaders on campus directly with his hand since. And no one is doing anything to him. Please help us.

“And also for the detained student who is in sick conditions now after the detainment.”
