The lawmakers who spoke in matches stated that there is no ethnic coloration to the impeachment process as they are only acting in line with the constitution.

The lawmakers who are of the Ijaw extraction appealed to their fellow kinsmen not to see the impeachment proceedings as an attack on the Ijaw ethnic group given that the Governor is an Ijaw man, They say they support the impeachment proceedings because the governor has continuously gone against the constitution and needs to be impeached.

Recall that last Thursday, the lawmakers commenced impeachment proceedings against the governor and his deputy.over claims of gross misconduct by the Governor.
