Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo Says His Appeal to Donald Trump Led to U.S. Military Deployment to Sokoto State

Outspoken Plateau State clergyman, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has blasted the National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, for allegedly diverting U.S. soldiers to Sokoto State and other parts of the north after he (Dachomo) personally called on President Donald Trump to come and help Christians in Plateau following a wave of killings by Islamist extremists.

Dachomo, who is the Barkin Ladi Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, had last year, called on Trump to send troops to Plateau to tackle the terrorists who had embarked on a killing spree allegedly targeted at Christians.

However, when the U.S responded, they staged precision airstrikes in Sokoto State targeting ISWAP, Boko Haram, and Lakurawa insurgents.

Following the airstrikes on December 25, 2025, detachments of U.S. troops have been deployed to some states in the north, neglecting Plateau as a destination for the troops, which the clergy says is a result of the interference of the NSA.

Rev. Dachomo, who made the accusation in a video message on Friday, stated that diverting the U.S. troops to other parts of the north was a well-laid plot to protect Muslims and continue the killing of Christians in the Middle Belt.

When I invited Trump to Nigeria to come and help us, their blueprint was that none of the American soldiers should come to Plateau State,” the clergyman said.

“The National Security Adviser redirected the attention of the U.S. to Sokoto State and the Muslim-dominated areas in the north.

“Now the Muslims are enjoying the coming of Trump and the American soldiers. They are now saying Trump is in Nigeria to protect the Muslims.

Christians are being killed like chickens. There are killings ongoing in Christian-dominated areas in Borno, Kwara, Kaduna, Benue, and Plateau.

“That is their roadmap to wipe out Christians in Nigeria, to make sure that nobody stands for us. It has come to a time when we must stand up and defend ourselves.

“Now the Muslims in northern Nigeria are benefiting more than the Christians who called for the help,” he added.
