Reps deputy speaker’s sister dies at 75

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Wase, has lost his elder sister, Maryam Maikano.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Umar Puma, made the announcement in a statement issued on Thursday and titled, ‘Wase Loses Sister.’

The statement read, “Death has occurred of Hajiya Maryam Idris Abdullahi Maikano, elder sister to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase.

“She died in Abuja in the early hours of today, Thursday, at the age of 75.

“She left behind six children and grandchildren.

 “She has been buried in Jos, Plateau State, in accordance to Islamic rites.”
