A document circulating online claims that a preliminary investigation into the June 13, 2025, Air Peace runway incident at Port Harcourt International Airport has revealed traces of alcohol and cannabis in the systems of some crew members.
According to the unverified report, purportedly attributed to the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), toxicological screening allegedly indicated that the flight’s captain and first officer recently consumed alcohol, while a cabin crew member tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active compound in cannabis.
As of now, neither the NSIB nor Air Peace has issued any official statement confirming these allegations.
Until the NSIB releases its official findings, the claims remain unsubstantiated.
