Former presidential aide and social commentator, Reno Omokri, has announced a ₦1 million reward for anyone who can identify the individual behind a disturbing social media post targeting the family of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
The controversial post, which surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), featured an image of Obi’s wife, Margaret, along with a vile caption suggesting that the politician would “bury his wife and kids.”
Condemning the post as hateful and unacceptable, Omokri vowed to ensure the handler is unmasked and brought to justice.
“Whoever made that post about Peter Obi’s wife and children is beneath contempt,” Omokri said. “I am putting down ₦1 million for anyone who can reveal the identity of that person. They must be prosecuted.”
The former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan stressed that political differences must never descend into personal attacks, especially those targeting families of public figures.
“Politics should never cost us our humanity,” he added.
Omokri, known for his outspoken views on national issues, urged security agencies and tech platforms to track down the handler and take necessary legal action.
The offensive post has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with users across party lines calling for accountability and stricter action against cyberbullying.
