Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso Condemns Student Abduction in Oyo, Calls for Rescue Efforts

Former Kano State governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has expressed concern over the continued stay in captivity of students and teachers abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement posted on his X account on Monday, Kwankwaso described the situation as disturbing, noting that the victims have remained in captivity for an extended period and were unable to celebrate recent festivities with their families.

He urged the government to make their rescue an urgent priority and take decisive measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Kwankwaso stressed the need for Nigeria to overcome its security challenges, emphasizing that the dignity and sanctity of every human life must be protected.

He wrote: “I am deeply disturbed by the ongoing plight of the abducted students and teachers, kidnapped from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Like many other victims still in captivity, they have endured prolonged hardship, missing precious moments including the recent festivities with their families and loved ones.

“It is imperative that the government treats their rescue as a matter of urgent priority, while taking decisive steps to prevent such incidents from recurring.

“Nigeria must break free from the chains of insecurity. The dignity and sanctity of every human life must be protected.”
