Police Rescue Kidnapped Two-Year-Old, Arrest Suspect in Potiskum

Operatives of the Yobe State Police Command have successfully rescued a two-year-old boy kidnapped in Potiskum and apprehended a 24-year-old suspect linked to the crime.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed this in Damaturu on Thursday, stating that the incident occurred on July 31. According to him, the toddler’s father, Mohammed Ishayaku, received a ransom demand of ₦2 million from the abductors.

Police investigations, he said, led to the arrest of Abdullahi Aliyu from Kakuri, Kaduna State, who is also alleged to have been involved in similar crimes in other states.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, commended the operatives for their swift response and reaffirmed the Command’s determination to combat crime in all parts of Yobe State.

Ado urged parents and guardians to be vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious activities or incidents to the nearest police station. He assured that the Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
