Police budget N547.7bn for equipment, others, NSCDC plans police stations

The Nigeria Police have proposed to spend N9.8bn on security equipment, N1.6bn on vehicle fuel and N309.8m to fuel generator in 2022.

The force also planned to spend N874.5m on vehicles maintenance, while office and residential maintenance would gulp N968.4m.

According to the 2022 NPF budget proposal, N1.5bn would be expended on uniform and other clothing, N690.9m on maintenance of aircraft, N360.2m on maintenance of sea boats and N100m on ‘loss on foreign exchange.’

The police total allocation is N547.7bn.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps also said it would spend N699.6m on the construction of police stations.

The corps will also expend N400m on the construction of public schools, and N403.8m on hospitals and health centres while provision of infrastructure was expected to gulp N172.3m out of its total allocation of N110bn.

The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit proposed to spend N75m on meals and refreshments in 2022.

It will also spend N200m on the acquisition of non-tangible assets and another N200m on computer/software acquisition out of its N5.4bn total allocation for the year.

The Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission allocated N25m for the construction of roads and N728.9m on ‘construction of infrastructure.’

In its proposal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs earmarked N95m for the repair of airport protocol lounges and N150m for the integrated digitalised system at headquarters and missions.

Rehabilitation of prisons is to gulp N1.7bn, while the construction of four 3,000-capacity maximum security custodial centres in Ilesa, Osun State; Jos, Plateau State; Gombe, Gombe State and Umuahia, Abia State was expected to cost N3.1bn.

Total allocation for the Nigeria Correctional Services stands at N93.4bn.

The Federal Fire Service budgeted N106.9m for the repair of police stations/ barracks while N96.6m was allocated for the rehabilitation of fire stations.

Research and development will take N487.3m out of a total allocation of N17.9bn.
