Senate President Ahmed Lawan briefly doubled as an Aide de Camp to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) on Wednesday during a meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly in Abuja.

Ordinarily, the ADC to the President attends to the needs of the President and accompanies the President at State functions, ceremonies or events of ceremonial nature.

He is responsible for the coordination, planning, implementation and follow-up of the President’s events both locally and overseas.

However, Lawan briefly assumed a part of that role as he helped His Excellency to his seat, while the original ADC attempted to salvage his duty which was briefly taken over by Lawan.
