Peter Obi in High-Level Consultations Over 2027 Ambitions Amid Political Speculation

The Obidient Movement Worldwide has stated that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, is currently engaged in extensive, high-level consultations with key stakeholders, political allies, and aligned movements regarding his 2027 ambition.

The National Coordinator of the Movement, Yunusa Tanko, made this known in a statement on Saturday.

According to him, the movement acknowledged the growing concerns and widespread reports regarding recent political developments in the political landscape and evolving engagements with current and potential partners.

Recall that Habibu Mohammed, spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya movement, stated on Friday nated that Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano, would defect from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) next week.

According to Mohammed, the decision was sealed after a unanimous endorsement by stakeholders.

It was gathered that since the all-opposition political leaders’ summit in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, in April, Obi has not attended any subsequent ADC meetings.

However, Tanko, in the statement, said Obi’s ongoing engagements with key stakeholders are focused on determining the most strategic and effective path forward in the best interest of the Nigerian people and their shared mission to build a new Nigeria.

“As a movement founded on integrity, accountability, and active citizen participation, we remain dedicated to ensuring that every decision taken reflects our values and long-term vision for the country,” the statement reads.

“These consultations are deliberate, thorough, and guided by the overriding objective of securing a future that works for all Nigerians,” he said.
