PDP zoning committee may not conclude assignment today

THE Governor Ifeanyi Ugwanyi-led Peoples Democratic Party Zoning Committee is unlikely to conclude its assignment, today, UGAMATV has learnt.

It was gathered in Abuja, on Wednesday, that ongoing consultations among the party’s governors who met over proposals put forward by the committee for consideration, may stretch a little.

A party source who spoke to our correspondent said the committee met with governors of the party to brief them on options they were considering before a final decision is taken tomorrow (Thursday).

The source said, “We are yet to meet with the BoT members, especially those who were newly brought, we need everyone on board. Barring any last-minute changes, we should make our position on the first leg of our assignment known tomorrow.

“We made proposals which were taken to the governors for their input, they are still meeting as I speak to you but I have no doubt we should agree on something concrete tomorrow.”

UGAMATV had reported that the committee was considering sticking to the 2016 zoning formula which zoned the party Chairmanship to the South while the position of Secretary, Publicity Secretary among others were equally zoned to the north.

Governors of the party under the aegis of the PDP Governors Forum were still meeting in Abuja, as at the time of filing his report.
