PDP Chairman Demands Overhaul of Nigeria’s Security Architecture

The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Tanimu Turaki, has called for a review of Nigeria’s security architecture, stressing the need for collaborative efforts to tackle the country’s security challenges.

Turaki made the appeal during a sympathy visit to the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, following the abduction of students and teachers from St Mary’s School in Agwara Local Government Area.

He noted that security issues are critical and require collective action, adding that the PDP would support the state government in finding a lasting solution.

The PDP national chairman commended the state government and the security agencies for their efforts to rescue the abducted pupils and their teachers.

In his response, Governor Bago thanked the PDP national chairman for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of humanity and solidarity.

He urged the opposition party to continue contributing to nation-building, noting that a robust opposition strengthens democracy and helps shape government policies.
