Pantami should exit honourably

This Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, is a bad baggage of Mr President, so he should be dropped now and prosecuted.

He has admitted guilt of heinous charges against him, his subsequent apology is an afterthought. If not, criminals could get to court and apologise for their crime, and be let go.

The argument that he committed the offence of religious extremism before the anti-terrorism Act is pedestrian because there are sections of the penal or criminal code that deal with such crimes under which his trial can commence.

The father of a boy had accused him of accessory to martyrdom of his son when Pantami was a Chief Imam of the mosque in the university. This must be investigated immediately and he with his active accomplices should be brought to book. There should be no sacred cows else people will resort to jungle justice.
