Over 100 Nigerians Benefit from Saudi Humanitarian Medical Outreach in Kano

No fewer than 140 Nigerians have benefited from a life-saving humanitarian medical outreach organized by Saudi Arabia in Kano.

The five-day campaign, conducted by a 25-member team of highly skilled Saudi medical volunteers under the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), focused on critical cardiac interventions.

According to a statement by the Kingdom’s Press Attaché in Nigeria, Mohamed Alsahabi, the medical team successfully carried out several open-heart surgeries and cardiac catheterizations, bringing renewed hope to patients and their families.

Alsahabi said the initiative reflected Saudi Arabia’s continued humanitarian commitment through KSrelief, which has been delivering vital medical interventions and aid to vulnerable communities worldwide.

The Kano project forms part of KSrelief’s broader global program of voluntary medical missions. In recent years, the center has carried out dozens of open-heart surgeries and over 140 catheterizations in Yemen; performed pediatric open-heart surgeries in Tanzania; pioneered 37 minimally invasive laparoscopic heart surgeries in Mauritania; and delivered similar missions in Indonesia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

“These interventions, praised for their precision and success rates, not only save lives but also strengthen Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian footprint through medical diplomacy,” the statement noted.

Officials stressed that the Kano outreach, like others before it, was designed to alleviate suffering, provide advanced healthcare at no cost to patients, and demonstrate the Kingdom’s readiness to support communities in need across continents.
