Osun cultists kill 17-year-old boy, police trail suspects

Some suspected cultists have hacked to death a 17-year-old boy, Quadri Olalekan, in the Oluguna area of Osogbo, Osun State.

Sources in the area told our correspondent that a gang of six swooped on the victim and stabbed him several times on Monday.

According to a roadside trader, who did not want to be identified, the gang tracked Olalekan to the area and attacked him, as he pleaded for help.

“He was stabbed by a group of six boys. They are suspected to be cultists. We all fled when he was attacked,” he added.

A spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, said the command had identified those behind the killing.

She said, “Quadri Olalekan was killed in the Oluguna area, Osogbo, by one Afeez, also known as ‘Terror’ and his gang, suspected to be Eiye Confraternity members. The perpetrators will be brought to book.”
