Former Fenerbahçe striker Serdar Dursun has questioned whether Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has the technical quality required to thrive at Barcelona, despite praising the Nigerian as a highly talented striker.
Osimhen enjoyed another outstanding campaign with Galatasaray, playing a key role in the club’s successful defence of the Turkish Super Lig title. The Nigerian international finished the season with 22 goals and eight assists across all competitions, further strengthening his reputation as one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards.
His impressive performances have fueled speculation over a summer move, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea all reportedly monitoring his situation.
However, speaking on the Cup Diary programme on Spor Smart, Dursun said he was not convinced Osimhen possesses the technical qualities needed to fit Barcelona’s style of play.
“I don’t think Osimhen can play for Barcelona. Osimhen is a talented player, but he doesn’t have a clean technique,” Dursun said, as quoted by Fanatik.
The former Turkish international’s comments come amid reports that Barcelona are prioritising a move for Argentine forward Julián Álvarez over the Nigerian striker.
With preparations for the 2026/27 season set to begin, Osimhen is expected to decide his future in the coming weeks as interest from several top European clubs continues to grow.
