Ondo church cleaner killed while going to service

A middle-aged woman, identified only as Mrs Omode, has been killed by assailants at Iwaro Oka in the Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The deceased, who was said to be a cleaner at the Deeper Life Bible Church in the community, was found dead early Sunday morning, throwing the agrarian community into mourning.

She was said to have been murdered while going to the church to perform her duty.

According to residents, the lifeless body of the victim was found on the ground with a mark on her neck, which indicated that her throat was slit by the killers.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said investigation had commenced into the incident.

She said, “The lifeless body of the woman was found on the way to the church and there was a cut on her neck. We have commenced our investigation into the matter.”
