The Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha, has expressed his willingness to make peace with the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.

Okorocha stated this in Abuja on Thursday at a colloquium to celebrate his 59th birthday.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, prominent traditional rulers and many eminent Nigerians, attended the event.

Osinbajo commended Okorocha’s generosity and philanthropy which he said had given hope to thousands of hopeless children across Africa.

The celebrant, who is  having a running battle with his successor (Uzodinma), used the occasion to tell Nigerians that his love for the country would make him to make sacrifices and reconcile with the governor.

He said, “I look beyond the current situation and consider the future of all these children.

“This is not a time to claim right. Claiming right could lead the country to disasters. From Sokoto to Imo, Lagos to Kwara let peace reign.

“From Rochas Olorocha to Hope Uzodinma, let peace reign. It is a very difficult one, but for the sake of peace, I am ready to make sacrifices”

He also urged those agitating for secession to embrace peace in the interest of “the innocent Nigerian children.”
