Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide ably represented by Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, joins millions of well-wishers to salute Chief Dr. Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, CFR, OFR, MFR, GCSI, FNSE, FNIST, FNICE, KSC (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo) as he clocks 79 on September 4, 2021.
In a message to him and other well wishers, he says that Chief Iwuanyanwu has lived a life of heroism and sacrifice which he showed at a time when his people needed his services most by volunteering to serve as a Biafran soldier and rising to the rank of a Captain at a very young age, and was among the Engineers that invented the multi-purpose Biafran bomb, called Ogbunigwe.
Ogbonnia said that as the Chairman of the frontline Engineering and Construction Company, Hardel and Enic Nig Ltd; Champion Newspapers and Iwuanyanwu National Football Club of Owerri (now Heartland F.C.), which won several national and international championships, Iwuanyanwu provided employment and meaningful source of livelihood to thousands of Nigerians. He also says that as a former leading presidential aspirant, Iwunanyanwu displayed nothing but political mastery, sagacity, sportsmanship.
Speaking further, he said “Ohanaeze Ndigbo appreciates you as one of the few successful Nigerians who have passed through the labyrinth of politics and business and came out unblemished. It is to Chief Iwuanyanwu’s credit that he awarded scholarships to numerous Nigerians, built schools, hospitals, Churches; produced many council chairmen, commissioners, senators, ministers and governors. He has for a long time devoted his life to the virtues of hard work, sincerity, sacrifice, audacity, ingenuity, philanthropy and mentorship.
“His accomplishments in life are a veritable source of joy and an inspiring tribute to the power of human beings to shape their own destiny; and a warning to the dangers of self-delusion and arrogance. Furthermore, Ambassador Professor George Obiozor recalls with freshness the quality services he rendered as the former Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo State Creation Committee; former Chairman, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Planning and Strategy Committee; former Chairman Ohanaeze Political Committee, among others. He is currently the Chairman, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Committee of Elders. All these account for your befitting name- Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo”.
He said that Iwuanyanwu is a man with enviable quality and is always firm on the path of truth, equity and justice, and is a man whose foundation in christian values and faith has imbued in him the courage to speak truth to power no matter whose ox is gored.
