Ogun woman cuts neighbour’s child with blade over missing N3,000

A 31-year-old woman and mother of two, Shade Adelowo, has been arrested by policemen in Ogun State for allegedly attacking her neighbour’s 11-year-old son, Kehinde Ojo.

UGAMATV gathered that the police arrested Adelowo on Sunday after she used a razor blade to inflict injuries on the victim.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Monday, said the suspect, who lived at Giwa Oke-Aro, Agbado, in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state, was arrested following a report at the Agbado divisional headquarters by the victim’s mother.

He said, “Upon the report, the DPO, Agbado division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, detailed his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.

“On interrogation, she claimed that the victim, who used to stay with her whenever his mother was not around, stole N3,000 from her purse, and that she did not know what came over her that made her to inflict such grievous injuries on him.

“She further claimed that she had been taking care of the boy and his twin brother for quite some time, and that what happened on that fateful day was the devil’s handwork.”

Oyeyemi said preliminary investigation revealed that the boy’s mother was abandoned by her husband, who left her with three children and vanished into thin air

“She stated further that it was a thing of surprise to her when she saw what the suspect did to her son, because she had been good to her in the past.

“The victim has been taken to a hospital for medical treatment and he is responding to treatment.”
