Ogbomoso Power Station Attacked by Armed Robbers

Report reaching UGAMATV from Ogbomoso in Oyo State indicates that armed robbers have attacked a 132KVA power substation in the ancient city.

The power station located at Temidire/Ajeja along Ikirun Road was attacked by the armed robbers numbering about six.

Our correspondent learnt that the armed robbers invaded the station on Monday and carted away some equipments in the power station.

NEWSMEN  gathered that the robbers came fully armed and with various tools to cart away components at the station.
It was learnt that the suspects escaped.

One of the guards, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident.

Some chiefs from the Palace of Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Afolabi Olaoye later visited the station.

Officials of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from Ganmo station where Temidire power station will be connected, also rushed down to Ogbomoso to asses the situation.

Among the officers from TCN Ilorin are Engr Adetunji (Assistant GM Transmission), Eng Afusat Umar Muazu, and Engr Adetoyinbo A. Adekunle.

As as the time of filing this report on Tuesday, the value of the equipment carted away by the armed robbers have not been revealed.
