Lawyer and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has said that the conduct of the Obidient Movement, supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, will hinder his chances of ever becoming Nigeria’s president.
Adeyanju, in a post shared on his X handle on Saturday, argued that the group’s persistent habit of insulting and threatening critics played a major role in Obi’s loss during the 2023 general elections.
According to him, “Obidients have over the years formed the habit of insulting and threatening everyone and anyone, and this so-called strategy was part of the reasons Obi failed in the last election.”
The activist maintained that unless the movement changes its approach, it would continue to alienate potential allies and reduce Obi’s chances in future elections.
