THE National Coordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has denied speculations that the state Governor, Willie Obiano, has plans to handover 50 hectares of Anambra land to herdsmen for ranching.

Obigwe who spoke in Awka, on Sunday, described the story as childish blackmail which he enjoined people of the state to discountenance.

He said, “The report that Governor Obiano wants to handover 50 hectares of land to herders for ranching is childish blackmail and a lie from the pit of hell.

“Governor Obiano does not have such a plan. This is the same way they lied that the governor does not want to sign an anti-open grazing bill into law while at the time they started peddling the falsehood, the House of Assembly was in a recess.

“It was when the house returned from the recess that the majority leader of the House of Assembly presented the anti-open grazing bill to the House. The bill has passed through first and second reading.

“The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Uche Okafor, has promised a speedy passage of the anti-open grazing bill and when that is done, they will send it to the governor for his assent.”
