Obasanjo Opens Up on Managing Diabetes for More Than 40 Years

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has disclosed that proper diet, routine medical checkups and lifestyle choices have helped him in managing diabetes at 89 years old.

Obasanjo made this known while stressing that he has been managing diabetes for over 40 years.

Speaking in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital on Saturday, the former president emphasized the need for regular exercise.

He said: “One thing you must understand is that exercise is very important at every age, and even more important when you become a senior citizen.

“I’m officially 89 years old, but by the grace of God, I have been keeping fit and strong despite the fact that I have been diabetic for over 40 years. Many people do not take their health seriously enough.”
