The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Enugu State Chapter, has been drawn to two mischievous and misleading reports published by Sahara Reporters, The Punch, and other online platforms, which aim to create a false narrative of crisis within our great party.
The report by Sahara Reporters alleging non-payment of stipends to delegates at the recent national convention is entirely false, a deliberate distortion of facts, and a figment of the writer’s imagination. It is a concocted story built on unverifiable anonymous sources whose credibility cannot be established.
The APC in Enugu State states categorically that there is no such crisis, nor has there been any agitation of the nature described. This publication is nothing more than a failed attempt to sow seeds of discord and distract the party from its determined efforts to secure an overwhelming electoral victory in the 2027 general elections.
We urge members of the public and party faithful to disregard the report in its entirety, as it does not reflect the reality within the APC in Enugu State. Our delegates remain committed, loyal, and satisfied with the party’s transparent processes and leadership at both the state and national levels.
Regarding the second report by The Punch and other platforms alleging mass resignation of members from the APC in Enugu State, we wish to set the record straight. The claims of exclusion and marginalisation are completely false, baseless, and unfounded.
Contrary to these misleading narratives, the truth is that His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has repositioned Enugu State as a stronghold of the APC. The Governor is widely recognized for his inclusive leadership style, effectively integrating both longstanding members of the party and new entrants.
Today, members of the National and State Assemblies from Enugu State, the 17 Local Government Area Council Chairmen, and councillors are aligned with the APC. Furthermore, former governors and key political stakeholders across the state have embraced the party’s vision, fostering an unprecedented level of unity and political consolidation.
Both old and new blocs are fully represented across all levels of party leadership—from the wards to local government areas and the state structure. Notably, key positions zoned to Enugu State by the South-East chapter of the party—including the Zonal Woman Leader (South-East), held by Hon. Dr. Mrs. Oby Ajih, and the Deputy National Chairman (South), held by Dr. Ben Nwoye—are occupied by members of the old APC bloc, clearly dispelling any claims of exclusion.
Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah continues to demonstrate exceptional leadership, not only in governance but also in strengthening the APC’s presence and cohesion in Enugu State.
Under the able leadership of the State Chairman, Dr. (Sir) Martin Chukwunweike (Ozoigbondu), the APC in Enugu State remains united, focused, and committed to delivering good governance while consolidating its growing dominance in the state.
No amount of propaganda or sponsored misinformation can derail the steady progress being made. In Enugu State, we boldly affirm: Tomorrow is Here.
Signed:
Chief Hon. Uche Obute (JP)
APC State Publicity Secretary, Enugu State.
