The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has alleged that his life and those of his management team are under serious threat.
Ojulari disclosed this on Thursday while receiving a delegation of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), led by its President, Comrade Festus Osifo, at the company’s headquarters in Abuja.
According to him, the threats stem from the reforms he has introduced in the oil and gas sector, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to revamp Nigeria’s moribund refineries.
He lamented that some powerful interests opposed to the reforms are plotting to have him removed from office, warning that such actions could undermine the government’s drive to reposition the sector.
