NLC Enugu State Women Committee elects new EXECUTIVEs

Nigeria Labour Congress Enugu State Women Committee has elected  new Executives that will manage affairs in the state for the next four years. 

The election of the new Executives  of the NLC Enugu State women Committee took place at the Enugu State House of Assembly conference Hall.

 The new Chairperson of the Women Committee and also a member of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees Comrade Rosemary Ukamaka Ugwu thanked God for the privilege given to her to be the Chairperson of the committee.

She noted that she will focus on capacity building and women empowerment. “I will make sure that we will move to organise a seminar that will take us to the 17 local government areas in the issue of domestic violence against our Women”

She further called on the past executives and other opponents to join them and move the committee forward stressing that NLC belongs to all.

The new Secretary of the committee and also a member of National Association of nurses and midwife Enugu State chapter Comrade Clara Omeago who won with 43 votes while her opponent Nnenna Oraedu got 29 votes expressed gratitude to God for the victory.

The Secretary of Nigeria Labour Congress Enugu State and also the Chairman of the election committee Comrade Fabian Nwizu in his speech,  stated that the election is the most transparent and peaceful election that has been conducted.

He further urged the new executives to do everything possible to make a positive change in the committee.
