NCDC reports 57 new COVID-19 cases, one death across 10 states

Ten states reported 57 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, according to figures released on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The agency also reported one additional COVID-19 related death.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Facebook page on Monday.

Lagos recorded the highest number of new infections with 30 cases followed by Enugu – 9, Rivers – 7, Kaduna – 3, Osun – 3, Abia – 1, Bauchi – 1, Kano – 1, Ogun – 1 Plateau – 1.

The health agency said the 57 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 213,589.

However, 206,518 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With one additional COVID-19 related death reported, the death toll from the virus is now 2,974, NCDC said.

It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
