My daughter brought me healing – Toke Makinwa opens up on how becoming a mother is healing her childhood trauma and grief

Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has opened up on how becoming a mother brought her healing.

 

 

 

Makinwa, who gave birth to her first child, a girl, in August, 2025, lost both her biological parents in a fire incident when she was a child.

 

 

 

 

In a post on Saturday, September 27, Makinwa said her daughter, Yakira Eliana, is helping her heal from childhood trauma and grief she thought she had buried a long time ago.

 

 

 

“My daughter brought me healing, she is daily healing parts of me I didn’t even know needed healing, healing from my childhood trauma, from grief I thought I had dealt with a long time ago. God knew I needed this,” she wrote.
