Musa’s appointment, A Testament To Renewed National security commitment – Lagos APC

Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has congratulated Christopher Musa on his appointment as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, describing the development as a major step toward strengthening the nation’s security architecture.

In a statement issued on Friday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, said Musa’s emergence goes beyond a routine cabinet change, noting that it reflects a renewed national resolve to confront the persistent security challenges facing the country.

Oladejo said the new minister brings to the job a wealth of operational experience, public confidence, and a distinguished record in handling some of Nigeria’s most complex security assignments.

“General Musa takes on this responsibility with a reputation that Nigerians are familiar with, one built on decades of dedicated service. The public knows his capabilities, and they are clear about their expectations,” he said.

The APC spokesperson added that the party values Musa’s assurances of commitment to the task ahead, while also acknowledging his call for nationwide collaboration among citizens, security agencies, local leaders, and institutions.

He emphasized that securing the nation requires shared responsibility, saying, “No defence minister can achieve success without the partnership and support of the people.”

Oladejo expressed confidence that Musa will prioritize modernising the military, strengthening intelligence coordination, restoring confidence in defence institutions, and leading decisive operations against terrorists, criminal syndicates, and internal saboteurs.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu for the appointment, saying it demonstrates the president’s bold leadership and determination to confront insecurity across the country.

According to him, “Those who profit from chaos, those who turn insecurity into political theatre, and those who sabotage national security efforts must now understand that a firm and resolute leader has taken charge at the Defence Headquarters.”
