Mixed Reactions as Baba Ijesha and Wife Announce Son’s Birth

Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, and his wife, Anjy Luminee, have welcomed a baby boy, a development that has sparked mixed reactions on social media.

UGAMATV reported that the couple announced the birth of their son on Tuesday, drawing congratulatory messages from colleagues, fans and well wishers.

However, the announcement also reignited discussions about the actor’s past legal troubles.

Among those who reacted was Bobrisky, whose congratulatory message attracted criticism from some social media users.

Actress Moyo Lawal also faced backlash after congratulating the couple, with some users questioning her support.

Others, however, defended her, arguing that extending congratulations did not warrant criticism.

Reality TV star Angel Smith questioned Luminee’s decision to remain married to Baba Ijesha despite the controversy surrounding his conviction.

Social media commentator Daniel Regha also weighed in, suggesting that Luminee should have ended the marriage following the actor’s sentencing.

Despite the criticism, several celebrities celebrated the couple’s new arrival.

Actor Yomi Fabiyi congratulated the family, while actress Olayinka Solomon and other supporters also sent goodwill messages.

The development has generated widespread debate across social media platforms, with opinions divided between those congratulating the family and those expressing concern over the actor’s past.

Recall that Baba Ijesha was convicted by a Lagos State High Court in 2022 over the sexual assault of a minor and sentenced to 16 years imprisonment. However, the conviction was later overturned by the Court of Appeal, leading to his release from prison in November 2025.
