Mgbowo, Awgu LGA (Enugu State) — January 17, 2026 — Stakeholders of Mgbowo Ward in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State have reaffirmed their strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah following the successful flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Digital Membership E-Registration Exercise in the community.

The event, held at Central School, Mgbowo, attracted a large turnout of community elders, women groups, youths, party stakeholders, and faithful, reflecting growing grassroots mobilization and renewed commitment to strengthening the party’s structure, internal democracy, and digital data management ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Delivering the opening prayer, Dr. (Mrs.) Ego Ajah, Member III of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), commended Governor Mbah’s leadership and urged the people of Mgbowo to participate massively and responsibly in the ongoing registration exercise.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Dr. Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto, praised Governor Mbah’s exceptional leadership, describing the e-registration exercise as a strategic grassroots mobilization initiative aimed at strengthening the APC and consolidating support for President Tinubu and Governor Mbah.

He noted that governance outcomes under the APC-led administration were already yielding visible benefits at the local government level and encouraged residents to embrace the party and actively participate in the registration process as a pathway to attracting more dividends of democracy.

Also speaking, a prominent stakeholder and son of the soil, Chief Amobi Edeh (Agubata), attributed the growing acceptance of the APC in Enugu State to what he described as tangible dividends of democracy from the centre and the developmental strides of Governor Mbah.

Chief Edeh called on the people of Mgbowo to remain steadfast in their support for the APC and its leadership at both state and national levels, adding that mass participation in the e-registration exercise would translate into stronger electoral performance in future elections.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, commended Governor Mbah for what he described as dramatic infrastructural development across Enugu State, describing the governor as “God-sent.” He expressed satisfaction with the impressive level of participation and urged stakeholders and party members in Mgbowo to continue prioritizing the exercise as a critical political task.

Hon. Okolo emphasized that increased APC membership would further accelerate grassroots development and strengthen the delivery of democratic dividends.

Former Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial Zone, Distinguished Senator Ben-Collins Ndu, commended Mgbowo Ward for its unwavering support during his tenure in the Senate. He recalled his working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a former colleague in the National Assembly, noting that the President harbours positive intentions for Enugu State.

He urged residents to deepen their commitment to the APC by actively participating in the ongoing digital registration exercise.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Comrade Akpa Francis JP appreciated the efforts of stakeholders and party faithful, applauding the impressive turnout and encouraging sustained loyalty and support for the APC.

The programme concluded with a closing prayer led by Hon. Chief Chidi Ejinaka, Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization to Senator Osita Ngwu.

Also present at the event was the APC Awgu Local Government Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo, alongside other party leaders and supporters.

The APC Digital Membership E-Registration Exercise forms part of the party’s broader strategy to deepen internal democracy, expand its grassroots base, and strengthen its electoral readiness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
