Many injured as car crashes into commercial tricycles in Lagos

An accident involving a Honda vehicle and two commercial tricycles left many injured at the Federal Bus Stop along Ipaja Road in Lagos State.

 

It was gathered that the crash occurred at about 8:50 a.m today, May 16.

 

The Honda car, bearing registration number KTU 921 JY, reportedly crashed into two tricycles.

 

Eyewitnesses said approximately 10 passengers suffered varying degrees of injuries as a result of the collision.

 

According to reports, the driver of the Honda vehicle swerved while trying to avoid hitting a street sweeper attached to the Lagos Waste Management Authority, LAWMA.

 

Witnesses allege that the driver still struck the sweeper before losing control of the vehicle, which reportedly crossed to the opposite lane and crashed into two commercial tricycles.

 

The injured passengers were first taken to a nearby private medical facility for emergency treatment before some of them were later transferred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for further care.

 

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force from the Gowon Divisional Headquarters, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and neighbourhood security personnel were seen at the scene coordinating rescue efforts and controlling

traffic flow.
