Tragedy strucks in Enugu as a trailer truck, heavily laden with Cassava Swallow(Fufu), Collides with shops in Enugu. UGAMATV REPORTS.

The unfortunate incident which happened at Wonderful Junction, Oji river, Enugu state at about 1:30pm on Tuesday, was said to have been caused by a Fufu laden trailer, which lost control due to break failure, while descending the Ugwunzu hill in Oji River, Enugu state.

Clearing and colliding with every vehicle in its path, the truck finally came to a halt after it had rammed into a Shop, trapping several persons.

Our correspondent gathered that, onlookers had alerted the Executive Chairman of Oji river local government council, Hon. Barr. Frank Udemezue, who deployed several safety and health officials to the accident’s scene.

The safety officials had swiftly gained control of the Truck’s Fuel tank, which was leaking to avoid explosion, leading to further damages of lives and properties.

Three persons were confirmed dead as their dismembered corpses were found lying around in the Scene.

Several others were severely injured and currently hospitalized.

Youths of Oji urban had taken to a protest, demanding that the government diverts heavy weight trucks to the express, to avoid similar future occurrences.

Efforts to assuage their vexations are seemingly welcomed as they have desist from further protests.

As at the time of this report, the Police and the FRSC are yet to file their official report.
