Man stabs cousin to death during argument in Rivers

A man, identified only as Gabriel, has stabbed his cousin, Kopapa Neete, to death during an argument in Duburo community, in the Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

UGAMATV gathered that the suspect stabbed the victim, who was in his early 40’s, to death during an argument bordering on family issues.

The suspect was said to have fled the community after committing the crime.

The Chairman, Duburo Community Development Committe, Vincent Gbosi, said the case was reported to the Bori Police Station.

“Yesterday (Sunday), there was an incident in the community where one Gabriel stabbed a youth named Kopapa Neete to death.

“They are actually cousins. As a community, we have made efforts to formally lodge a complaint to the police at the Bori divisional headquarters.

“We are using this opportunity to call on the Rivers State Government to look into the insecurity in the community, investigate and prosecute the young man who committed this crime,” Gbosi stated.

Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, were unsuccessful as he had yet to respond to calls and text messages sent to his mobile number regarding the incident.
