Man on the Run After Allegedly Hacking Wife to Death in Yobe State

According to a statement released on Saturday, June 28, 2025, by the spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the tragic incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. and was reported by local residents to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters.

“Hamidu Ali attacked and macheted his wife to death for unknown reasons and fled the scene,” Abdulkarim said. He emphasized that the command strongly condemns the use of violence under the guise of seeking justice, calling it “capricious and illegal.”

As of the time of this report, the suspect remains at large, and the police continue to investigate the motive behind the attack.
