Man k!lls his mother over land dispute in Enugu community (video)

A man identified as Abuchi Joseph, allegedly k!lled his 65-year-old mother, Josephine Azegba, during a heated dispute over a family land in Umuogbo Ulo community, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

 

 

 

According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at about 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 and was reported by the deceased’s daughter, Charity Azegba.

 

 

 

It was gathered that the suspect allegedly struck his mother on the head with an iron hoe during an argument related to the sale of family land.

 

 

 

The brutal attack caused severe injuries, leading to her immediate d3ath.

 

 

 

Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene.

 

 

 

Police launched a manhunt to track down and arrest him.

 

 

 

However, the fleeing suspect was caught and beaten by vigilant youths after he allegedly snatched a motorcycle from a woman at a neighbouring Okata community.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the victim’s body has been evacuated to the Ogrute General Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while investigations continue.
