Make a Video Will”: Leo DaSilva’s Advice After Alex Ekubo’s Inheritance Dispute

Big Brother Naija reality show star, Leo DaSilva, has recommended making wills in video amid the ongoing dispute among late actor Alex Ekubo’s family.

UGAMATV reports that Alex died in May 2026 from kidney cancer and was buried in his home town on June 18, 2026.

Dispute however ensued few days after his burial when his biological mother’s family called out his stepmother, who raised him since he was seven years old, over the circumstances surrounding his death and why no one was allowed to see his corpse.

The issue escalated when Alex’s elder sister allegedly contacted a blogger to write articles against the stepmother, who the actor had acknowledged and his mother.

Reacting to the development, many Nigerians questioned Alex’s biological mother for abandoning him when he was seven only to come out after his death. Others attributed the crisis to sharing of the deceased’s property.

Speaking amid the controversy, Leo Dasilva recommended video wills, and urged the public to make a video of how they want their property to be shared after death.

He wrote, “I wish people understand that blood relatives can still mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. They could be your enemies and they could actually not even be in your life.

“This is why I always suggest video wills. Make a video of exactly what you expect after your death so that people don’t confuse your enemies for your family because of relation by blood.”

UGAMATV reports that Leo had in February 2025 disclosed his plan to prepare his children for his death.
