Premier League champions, Liverpool have agreed on a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz this summer, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Reds have reportedly struck an agreement with the Bundesliga outfit for a transfer package worth in excess of £126m.
Reports say Liverpool have been locked in talks with the German outfit in recent weeks with the player said to have already agreed a move to Merseyside as the two clubs thrashed out a deal.
On Tuesday night, June 10, it was said that a breakthrough over the potential record transfer had now been made and Wirtz looked set to finally seal a move to Arne Slot’s Premier League champions.
The total package of the transfer is worth £126m including add-ons, with the midfielder now set to travel to Anfield to undergo his medical and put pen to paper.
The 22-year-old was the Reds’ prime target in midfield this summer after a splendid season in Germany, where he scored 16 goals and provided 15 assists for Die Werkself.
