Liverpool star Mohamed Salah named Premier League Player of the Month award for October

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named the EA Player of the Month for October, with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel taking the manager’s award.

Salah scored a hat-trick to inspire Liverpool to a 5-0 win over rivals Manchester United and netted outstanding individual goals against both Manchester City and Watford.

The Egyptian had nine goal involvements in league games in October, helping Liverpool to two wins and two draws.

Salah also continued his scoring exploits on the European stage with a brace in a 3-2 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.

He beat off competition from Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet, Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Southampton’s Tino Livramento, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, and Youri Tielemans of Leicester, to win the accolade.

Michail Antonio and Cristiano Ronaldo won the August and September Player of the Month awards.

Liverpool return to action after the international break with a home game against Arsenal on November 20 – live on Sky Sports Premier League and Main Event.

Tuchel wins Manager of the Month
Chelsea head coach Tuchel has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month after his side recorded a 100 per cent league record.

The other nominees for the award were Tuchel’s compatriot, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, West Ham’s David Moyes and Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira.

Tuchel came out on top after his side scored 14 goals and conceded just once on their way to four wins from four, including a 7-0 thrashing of Norwich at Stamford Bridge on October 23.

Wins over Southampton (3-1), Brentford (1-0) and Newcastle (3-0) completed a strong month.

After the international break, Chelsea will look to return to winning ways after drawing with Burnley on November 6.

Next up on November 20, they travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester in a 12.30pm kick-off.
