Lawan, Kalu bag chieftaincy titles in Argungu

The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Mera, and the Argungu Emirate Council, on Friday, honoured the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and the Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, with chieftaincy titles.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the Senate President on Media and Publicity, Ola Awoniyi, on Saturday. The statement was titled, ‘Argungu Emir turbans Ahmad Lawan as Ganuwan Kabi’.

It explained that Lawan was honoured with the title of Ganuwan Kabi (Defender of Kabi Kingdom) while Kalu received the revered traditional title of Kibiyan Kabi (Commander of the Archers).

The occasion was part of the activities to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the coronation of the Emir.

Lawan and Kalu arrived in Kebbi with their entourage and were received by the state Governor, Abubakar Bagudu, and the people of Kebbi State.
