The Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Philip Dasun, when contacted, confirmed in Jos on Sunday that the Assembly members would meet on Monday over the matter.

Dasun said, “We are aware that the two-week ultimatum given to the governor by the House has elapsed. So, members of the House will meet tomorrow (Monday).”

Meanwhile, the Irigwe Development Association in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State has taken the bold step to approach the international community for assistance following the continued killing of its people by suspected Fulani terrorists.

The organisation said it was taking the decision to seek international help from the United Nations, African Union and other global agencies for which Nigeria had signed treaties because government had failed in its responsibilities.

The President of IDA, Prince Robert Dodo, stated these in an interview  as a report released by a human rights organisation, Stefanos Foundation, revealed that about 548 persons have been killed, 202 injured, 7,576 houses burnt and 5,801 farms destroyed by suspected Fulani terrorists in repeated attacks on the community in four years.

Dodo said, “If government fails to address this issue where they should, we intend to approach the international community to wade into the killings because failure of government to these sensitive challenges shows that the government is not interested.”

While exonerating the Irigwe youths from the reprisal killing of 22 commuters in Rukuba Road in Jos, he denied reports that Irigwe people had signed a peace accord with Fulani herdsmen at the Plateau State Government House, adding that the Irigwe people had no grievance with Fulani people.
